It Is Better When We Are Together - Peace & Equality
The 2nd and 3rd grade students of Mission Hill School relate global questions of peace and equality to their personal stories in this book that shows the power of a child's perspective. Tackling issues of racial injustice, morality, and internal and external turmoil, this book asks that, for once, the adults listen to the children. Using poetry, pomegranates, dinosaur bones, and dreams of future lawyer-hood to tell their stories of peace and equality, it becomes clear that, not only do these students have something to say, but that adults readers might very well learn something.
